Valle d'Itria

One of the oldest and most historic cities in the Itria Valley is Ostuni, also known as “The White City”, located a few kilometers from the sea. This nickname derives from the typical painting of its buildings, rigorously painted with white lime (with the double function of blinding enemies and, the most important, of disinfecting streets and houses thanks to the power of lime).
Another, very important, jewel, known and renowned all over the world for the uniqueness of its buildings, is the city of Alberobello and its trulli, also famous as “Unesco World Heritage Site” and emblem of the typicality of Puglia. Trullis have now become one of the most sought after historic buildings by tourists from all over the world.
Unmissable are the cities of Locorotondo, Cisternino, Martina Franca and Ceglie Messapica, with their unique and characteristic historical centers, where you can taste the famous “bombette”, a typical dish of the Apulian culinary tradition and explore the ancient monuments of centuries ago.
A beautiful land kissed by the sun.

The pearl of Salento, the city of Lecce, is Baroque  architecture “Manifesto”, both in the churches and in its Cathedral, whose square simply leaves you breathless, and in the oldest buildings such as the Roman amphitheater and “secret gardens”.

Following the very long coasts of Salento, bathed by Adriatic and Ionian Seas, you will find two of the cities most recognized, such as Gallipoli on the Ionian coast, an important antiquity port, today a popular entertainment destination especially for young people. On the Adriatic shore instead stands the city of Otranto, whose breathtaking views of the sea can only be contrasted with the charm of its ancient history and centuries-old tradition.

Moving to the north we find the historic city of Brindisi, built by the Romans and connected to the capital of the empire by the Via Appia, whose columns that mark its end still exist today and rise a few meters from the port. Today the city is an important airport and port, and connects the Salento area with the most important capitals of all Europe.

Bari & Coast

Lose yourself in the sinuous streets of the historic center of Bari, where step by step you can get involved in the tradition that saturates these immortal places, where you can get lost in the artisan shops, or watch the old ladies who, every day, prepare the fabulous “orecchiette” in front of at the door of their homes, as it happened decades ago.

Further south, Puglia does not lose its splendor or charm, as along the Adriatic coast you will find two timeless jewels: the city of Polignano a Mare, a famous seaside town overlooking a high cliff, and that of Monopoli, where to live the charm of the Apulian nightlife and which gathers numerous bathing beaches, restaurants and discos. The historic centers, churches, museums and historic buildings contain the essence of the architectural style that marked these areas, dating back to Roman times, contaminated over the centuries by the Bourbon dynasty and the architecture of the first half of the last century.
An unforgettable city

Become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city in 2019 was elected as the European Capital of Culture, which has allowed it to host numerous fairs, events and exhibitions of internationally renowned artists. Matera is one of the most important old centers in Europe, and retains a great heritage of culture and traditions, which can be found in the numerous museums and exhibitions that come to life in the heart of the city. Its winding streets and enchanting alleys have also allowed it to attract the attention of some of Hollywood’s most successful directors, who have chosen Matera as the ideal landscape for their films.

Matera has a particularly complex history. Born as a settlement in the Paleolithic, the “first men” soon saw in the tuff rock the possibility of creating caves that protected them from the elements. The city of Matera is an immense open-air treasure of history, culture and food and wine traditions, which dazzle the hundreds of thousands of tourists always ready to crowd its narrow streets and eat in the restaurants and bars of a city that looks like the scene of a Christmas nativity scene.
